Fort Worth Facility Update

In February 2021, a polar vortex winter storm hit North Texas. Texas Ballet Theater sustained catastrophic damage to our Fort Worth facility due to a massive water pipe break during this storm. The building is currently inoperable and closed to both staff and visitors for the near future.

Students of TBT School – Fort Worth have transitioned to virtual classes, while Company rehearsals are now taking place at the Richardson studio and other alternate locations. As of now, all summer programs planned to take place at the Fort Worth facility are still scheduled. Our leadership is working to secure longer-term temporary studio space in Fort Worth.

Rehearsals continue for our upcoming digital mixed repertoire performances. Despite the significant setbacks created by the storm damage, TBT is committed to presenting ballet in the community. Ballet is creative and innovative, and we will use these qualities to share our mission during this challenging time.

Moving forward, TBT is planning how to restore operations in accordance with the organization’s long-term vision and as good stewards of its resources. Click here to read our initial announcement about the damage, and we will add updates on this page as they become available.
