Bringing ballet to North Texas school districts

In-School Ballet for North Texas

Dance Extension is an in-school ballet program for 3rd-5th grade students, offered in partnership with the Dallas Independent School District.

Classes include ballet training, French terminology, ballet history, and classical music education, taught by a Texas Ballet Theater teaching artist. The curriculum aligns with TBT Schools and TEKS, and no previous dance experience is required. Students will learn ballet technique, perform a choreographed dance, and attend a field trip to a Texas Ballet Theater production at the Winspear Opera House. Classes meet once a week during school hours for the entire school year, and students receive dancewear and costumes.

While currently available only to DISD schools, this program can be brought to other districts for a fee. For more information, please contact Community@TexasBallet.org.
