The Professional Training Division (PTD) offers advanced dancers aged 14-19 comprehensive, year-round dance training that prepares them for successful careers in professional ballet. With a mix of both daytime and evening classes, the PTD program is designed to help teenage students balance intense ballet training with academic and other pursuits.
The program is primarily led by Professional Training Division and Advanced Instructor Mishic Libertore. Some classes and rehearsals will also be led by TBT school faculty, company members, and artistic staff — including Artistic Director Tim O’Keefe and Artistic Director Laureate Ben Stevenson, O.B.E. — and nationally recognized guest artists. By working with a variety of instructors from across the U.S., students grow in their understanding of professional dance opportunities.
This program is based at the Richardson School. Dancers train 6 days per week with a focus in classical technique, pointe, variations, and modern dance. They will have the opportunity to audition for the Richardson School Ensemble, which performs throughout the Metroplex.
The program curriculum includes dedicated time for schoolwork to help students balance their academic and dance studies. TBTS does not provide housing for out of town students but will offer recommendations for local apartment complexes and roommates. Students who have not completed high school are expected to complete their formal academic education.
Incoming Studio Training Company and Professional Training Division dancers are encouraged to attend the TBT Summer Intensive.
