Outreach

CityDance Outreach Education Program

Each component of Texas Ballet Theater's Community Enrichment is designed to fill the void for children and youth who would otherwise lack access to the arts.

CityDance's qualified ballet instructors offer a free five-week series of introductory ballet classes.

CityDance reaches over 1,100 students annually and is a recognized partner of the Fort Worth, Dallas, and Burleson Independent School Districts. Through exposure to the fundamentals of ballet, CityDance students learn basics of ballet technique and French terminology, as well as music and creative movement.

“ The students’ accomplishments were outstanding, from technique and discipline, to learning the language of dance. ”

Ms. Kenderdine, Fort Worth ISD

“ She was learning so much and was so graceful. I could see her talent unfolding before my eyes. ”

Ms. Turner, mother of a CityDance scholarship student

“This is an opportunity that our students would not have otherwise. They look forward to the lessons and will ask me in the hallway if it is ‘ballet day.’ It has given our students more confidence and helped with self-control and focus. What a beneficial program!”

Ms. Kelly, Fort Worth ISD
