TBT brings the 2014-2015 season to a finale with a diverse collection of works.
Dallas City Performance Hall
Choreography by: George Balanchine
Composer: Igor Stravinsky
The second movement of Balanchine’s celebrated three-act ballet, Jewels, Rubies dazzles with its brilliant choreography, gorgeous costumes, and jazzy score.
Choreography by: Jiří Kylián
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
In Petite Mort, Czech choreographer Jiří Kylián juxtaposes pleasure and death. With movements from Mozart piano concertos, this stunningly audacious ballet starkly showcases twelve dancers who exude aggression, sensuality and vulnerability.
Choreography by: Ben Stevenson, O.B.E.
Composer: Richard Wagner
Inspired by drifting clouds at sunset, Ben Stevenson’s serene, neoclassical work, with scenery and costumes designed by actress Jane Seymour, features music based on poems by Wagner’s lover.
Texas Ballet Theater presents a new ballet choreographed specifically for our dancers by internationally-acclaimed choreographer Jonathan Watkins. Former First Artist at the Royal Ballet, Watkins won the prestigious Kenneth MacMillan Choreography Competition at the age of 16.
