Loretta Williams started her dance training at the age of thirteen at the prestigious Irina Makkai Classical Ballet School in Highland Park, Illinois. After four years on full scholarship, she was accepted into the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program. As a trainee, Loretta was asked by Joffrey Artistic Director Ashley Wheater to perform in the Joffrey’s The Nutcracker, an incredible privilege given to only five female trainees. While at Joffrey, she was a featured soloist in Alexei Kremnev’s production of The Bluebird of Happiness, The Nutcracker and Swan Lake. She also had the honor of dancing in pieces choreographed by Norbert De La Cruz III, the late William McCellen and Justin Allen. In 2015, she joined Texas Ballet Theater’s Professional Division. In 2016, she accepted the invitation to officially join Texas Ballet Theater as a Trainee.
