Elementary students in local public schools often are introduced to the art of ballet by attending a live lecture/demonstration presented by Texas Ballet Theater II dancers or Texas Ballet Theater School advanced students.
Depending on the event, our emerging professionals may perform variations from classical ballets, discuss their personal dance backgrounds, or teach an introductory ballet lesson. The elementary students gain insight into the life of a dancer as well as a first-hand look at the dedication required to achieve a long term goal. These demonstrations often spark an interest in children to begin ballet lessons or attend a ballet performance.
In-Studio Viewing Opportunities
Get a glimpse behind the curtain of a professional dance company! On occasion, guests of Texas Ballet Theater are invited to view live rehearsals and intimate performances in our Fort Worth facility. Recently, Texas Ballet Theater welcomed the 6th grade students of Summit Charter School into the studio to watch a lecture/performance of Peter & The Wolf.
