Leticia Oliveira is one of five girls and the only dancer in the family. She fell in love with dance after seeing The Nutcracker at six years of age.
Leticia Oliveira began her dance training at the School of the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. She has performed with Theatro Municipal do Rio De Janeiro as well as Joffrey Ballet and Houston Ballet, where she was a principal dancer. She begins her first season with Texas Ballet Theater with an impressive record, receiving dance competition medals worldwide. Among her principal roles, she has performed in Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Esmeralda, Harlequinade, Romeo and Juliet, Dracula; Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon; Sir Frederick Ashton’s La Fille Mal Gardee; George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments and Theme and Variations.
