If he weren’t dancing, Mr. Velazquez says he would be in the Navy.

Joamanuel Velazquez started his dance training with Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico after watching his sister dance and deciding he wanted to perform in this art form as well. In 2004, he joined Conservatorio de Ballet Concierto and later trained with Virginia School of the Arts on full scholarship.  His favorite ballets include Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Coppélia, La Fille Mal Gardee.  This is his first season with the Company.
