Even off the dance floor, Ms. Griffith finds herself mid-air in her free time as she enjoys rock climbing as a hobby as well as reading.
Jayme Autrey Griffith joined Texas Ballet Theater in 2003. She began her dance training at Yuma Ballet Academy in Arizona, and then went on a full scholarship to Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy where she won the Billie Bath Pearlman Award in 2001 and the Michael Wasmund Award in 2002. Ms. Griffith’s favorite roles to perform with Texas Ballet Theater have been “Anitra” and “Madwoman” in Peer Gynt, “Cleopatra” in Cleopatra and “Cinderella” in Cinderella. Ms. Griffith has her degree in Human Resources. This is her fifth season.
