Kathryn Warakomsky
Principal, Fort Worth Academy
Kathryn Warakomsky was born in Boston, MA. She has a BFA in dance from the State University of New York at Purchase. She was a principal dancer with Ballet de Santiago, Chile, and Houston Ballet. She has over 20 years performing experience dancing lead roles in the major classical ballets including Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and others, plus numerous contemporary works by such notable choreographers as Ben Stevenson, George Balanchine, Kenneth MacMillan, Jiri Kylian, and Christopher Bruce among many others. She was an instructor with Houston Ballet Ben Stevenson Academy for two years where she staged and rehearsed many pieces for the upper school. Ms. Warakomsky has been teaching for Texas Ballet Theater School, Fort Worth since 2003 and was named Principal in January 2007. Along with Mr. Stevenson, Ms. Warakomsky has led Texas Ballet Theater School Summer Intensive for five years and continues to expand the school to all parts of North Texas. Ms. Warakomsky is an ABT (American Ballet Theatre) Certified Teacher, Primary through level 5.
